Who we are
GigaChords is a chord-analysis and music-practice application available publicly on Android, Windows, iPhone, and iPad. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to [email protected].
Audio files, recordings, and saved charts
When you select an audio file or start microphone recording, V1 decodes and analyzes that audio on your device. GigaChords does not upload the audio file to run chord analysis. Microphone access starts only when you use live recording or tuner features.
Chord maps, edits, settings, and saved-library data are stored locally on the device unless you explicitly use an online feedback or support action described below.
Information used by online services
Account and sign-in
Email address, generated account identifiers, sign-in codes, session tokens, device/platform details, app version, and sign-in timestamps are used to create and secure passwordless accounts. On supported platforms, Microsoft, Google, or Apple sign-in also processes the provider's verified issuer and subject identifier, verified email when supplied, short-lived authentication challenge data, and security events. A matching email alone is not used to link an external identity without the required ownership check.
Store subscriptions
Google Play and Microsoft Store product and purchase identifiers, purchase tokens or Store identifiers where applicable, subscription status, verification times, expiry, cancellation, refund, and grace information may be processed to grant, restore, or remove Pro access. On iPhone and iPad, an Apple App Store receipt and subscription status may be processed to grant or restore Pro without GigaChords registration. If you optionally sign in to GigaChords, the verified purchase may also be linked to your account for access on additional supported devices. App Store receipts are not retained by GigaChords after the verification request. Microsoft Store verification credentials may be retained encrypted when needed to recheck subscription state. The store that sold the subscription also processes the purchase under its own policy.
Launch notifications
If you submit the website form, we store your email, selected platform and use case, language, page path, country supplied by the hosting edge, user agent, and submission timestamps so we can send the requested launch notice and prevent abuse.
Website analytics and preferences
Cloudflare Web Analytics measures visits, page views, referring sites, general country, device, browser, operating system, and page-performance information. The analytics service does not use cookies or local storage, and its reports are aggregated rather than designed to identify individual visitors. When a browser follows a Google Play link from a GigaChords website page, we increment an aggregate UTC-day count for that page path before redirecting to Play. This handoff count stores no IP address, cookie, account, user agent, query string, or individual click record and is not a count of unique people or installs. Outbound Google Play links also include the aggregate campaign labels utm_source=gigachords.com and utm_campaign=gigachords_website_organic so Play Console can report website-referred store performance; these labels contain no account or personal identifier. The website may separately save an essential display preference, such as whether you paused optional animation, in local storage; that preference is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Optional chord feedback
If you explicitly submit feedback, it may include your account email, chord timeline and edits, song title or artist/file tags, duration and technical audio metadata, app/platform details, notes, and hash or fingerprint metadata. The audio file is not included.
Support
We receive the information you choose to send by email, such as app version, device, problem description, and screenshots. Do not send a song file unless we establish a specific private support process with you.
Security and rate limiting
Standard request data and one-way hashed identifiers may be used to stop abuse, diagnose delivery failures, and protect account, signup, and feedback endpoints. Short-lived rate-limit events are normally pruned after 48 hours.
Why we use this information
We use it to provide sign-in and entitlements, verify purchases, send requested launch or account emails, process optional feedback, answer support, secure the service, meet store or legal obligations, and improve GigaChords from submissions users deliberately provide. We do not sell personal information and V1 contains no advertising or third-party app analytics SDK.
Service providers
Cloudflare provides website hosting, serverless processing, database, private object storage, and privacy-focused website analytics. Brevo provides transactional email delivery. Microsoft, Google, and Apple provide sign-in and/or their respective store distribution, billing, and subscription-verification services where used. Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.
Retention
Account, session, entitlement, and purchase records are retained while needed to operate or secure the account and to meet purchase, fraud-prevention, accounting, or legal obligations. Launch-notification details are retained until the requested notices are completed or you ask us to remove them. Feedback is retained while it is reviewed and used to improve the product, unless deletion is requested and no legal exception applies. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed to resolve and document the request.
Your choices and deletion
You can avoid online feedback and launch forms and still use the local Free workflow. GigaChords registration is optional for an iPhone or iPad App Store purchase and Restore; optional sign-in links a verified purchase for access on additional supported devices. You can sign out of the app or manage or cancel a Google Play, Microsoft Store, or Apple App Store subscription through the store that sold it. You can request deletion of server-side account or signup data through the account deletion page. Removing the app or clearing its storage removes local data from that device but does not by itself cancel a subscription or delete server-side account records.
Children and changes
GigaChords is a general music tool and is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy when data flows or legal requirements change; the updated date and policy will be published here before materially different collection is introduced.
